Feeling down??

Don''t think that I have mentioned that I have started selling my cards out of my Mum & niece's sub shop. Here is one I made today.

The only SU part of it is the image, and card stock, that's all the info...but I wrote down my measurements in case you wanted to make one too. It is a great way to show off paper you like.

The base is gable green 4.25 x 5.5

Tempting turquoise mat is 4 x 2

DP is 3.75 x 1.75

Rose red mat is 2 x 3

DP is 1.75 x 2.75

Black mat is 1.75 x 3

DP is 1.5 x 2.75

Desk box

I made these to put on a desk and fill with paper clips etc. Here is the link to the tutorial here
All supplies are SU unless noted
Card stock is old olive and not quite navy, DSP is Urban Garden, don't know where I got the chip board letters and then used aquamarine stickles.

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

My sister showed me this technique the other day and I love it, stamp your images with STAZON on GLOSSY paper, let dry, cover the entire paper with versamark, then sprinkle on Iradescent ice, heat using heat gun.

Holiday treats

(Insert BS story why I haven't blogged in awhile here)! I got the stamp set "Sweet Centers" from SU http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=116521 and am diggin it. You can only get it until January 4th, 2010. Keep that in mind. I am thinking about having a class using it shortly after the holidays. I used the sweet treat cups with it too. There is another set coming out in the mini that uses the sweet treat cups also.
The paper is ww, garden green. The DP I have no idea. I also made this card with a slider so you don't have to wreck the card to get the candy out.

Christmas cards

Up for your viewing pleasure today is some hot Christmas cards, I did this with my splurge group last year and just loved it. The strip that the trees are stamped on is a paint chip (looks around and whispers) you can get the paint chips from just about any store that sells paint.
Cut the paint chip strip to the size you want, I then inked up SU Lovely as a tree in whisper white, stamp your image, lift up and stamp a little over top what you have already stamped, I embossed with iridescent ice. I used the mat pack to poke holes around the edge of my card stock, then used the white signo pen to make it look like faux stitching. Stamped a Christmas sentiment from Sincere Salutations.

I discovered this album in a box quite awhile ago, I just couldn't find the link for the directions, I have made a few of these and they are awesome, I made a Harley Davidson one for a wedding gift, unfortunately I gave it away before I took pictures. Here is the link for instructions here.

Toilet paper roll scrapbook

Long time no blog, ha ha ha, well up for your viewing pleasure today is a little scrap album made out of toilet paper tubes, that's right folks TOILET PAPER TUBES. As usual this is not my original idea, something I stumbled upon. Isn't this rockin, I think I say that about alot of things.
All supplies SU unless noted
I took 3 empty toilet paper rolls and flattened the heck out of them, a bone folder works great for this.
I cut my patterned paper 4" x 5.5" (your rolls might differ) and ran a few rows of sticky strip down it,. adhered to toilet paper roll.
After papering all your rolls, and decorating as you see fit, using a crop a dile and jumbo eyelets, put an eyelet at the end of one side, this is how they fit on the ring.
Now eyeball up some coordinating card stock and make your inserts and decorate.

Watercolouring

Hey peeps, I've been kinda neglectful, it's just that time of year. I haven't done masculine in awhile, which I really, really like to do. I find them so much easier then any other, I guess it's because you can keep it simple, you don''t have to worry about all the "girly" stuff like flowers and bling. I actually pulled out some of my scrap DP and got to use some of it up.

Very Vanilla back ground (SU), strip of ???? DP, with Blue Walmart Ribbon, the mat around the bear is brocade blue (SU), bear is from the SU set Yukon, I stamped the image on watercolour paper (SU), then coloured it in with SU watercolour crayons

Altered lunch tins

I'm baaaack (in creepy poltergeist voice). I had the week off for Easter break and spent it painting my daughters room. You won't see pics for awhile as I want to let the paint cure before I put up the decor elements.
Here are 2 of the tins I made for the golf tourney, all 4 are pretty much the same I just used the paper differently on all of them.
All supplies SU unless noted.
I bought the metal lunch tins from Micheal's, the paper is Darling Dots from SAB, certainly celery ribbon is from SAB as well, the blue ribbon is from WalMart, added some flowers and ribbon on the handle. These make great gifts when filled with cards and envelopes, I just made one for my niece for her birthday. A tutorial for the lunch tin can be found here.

New fave

I have to say that I love this card, unfortunately it is not my own design. I came across it somewhere, shame on me and had to have one like it, I changed the ribbon and sentiment. I have had the tart n tangy stamp set for awhile but didn't do anything with it. I went on a mission for some examples and found some really great ones to inspire me, so what I am saying is expect to see a few from tart n tangy.

All supplies SU unless noted

Whisper white base 2.25" strip of Summer Picnic DSP, strip of Pumpkin Pie, which I scalloped with a corner rounder from Wal Mart. Old olive ribbon. Pumpkin Pie with scallop punch, 1 3/8" circle punch with Summer Picnic DSP, apple stamp from tart n tangy in old olive ink. The crooked birthday sentiment is from Upsy Daisy.

All SAB card

I have never done 2 step stamping, or really cared for it, but guess what, I think this is what I will be doing for awhile. I think it would be great for new stampers as you really don't have to be precise. I put up 2 of the same card so you could see the glitter in the centre of the yellow flowers.

All supplies SU-except the stickle

Base is So Saffron, then a strip of Certainly Celery with the DSP Delicate Dots from SAB, then a strip of So Saffron ribbon, again from SAB, with a nice little knot. The stamp set I used is Botanical Blooms, again from SAB, I did the flowers in Bashful Blue and So Saffron, the leaves are Certainly Celery, and then basic black outline, some stickles in the centre and finis!!!

Glitter semi tutorial

The card with the gorgeous coloured heart done in glitter is one from the Edmonton regional. I fell in love with it. I probably have about 8 pictures of this card on my camera. I did not make the card with the heart, I repeat I did not make the card with the heart, isn't it hot though. The cards with the flowers done in glitter is the one I made. It is so easy, I will tell you how to do it and then give the supplies for my card. Roger that?

Take SU's sticky cuts, letters or "sweet" OR in just the sheet of sticky cuts pages, did you know you could get ones that you can make your own, just think of all the possibilities with punches and the sheet of sticky cuts...I'm in heaven.

Step 1
Take a sticky cut, I choose 3 flowers from the SU sticky cuts "Sweet". I just peeled one side off of the sticky cuts and adhered to the whisper white paper, then a took my hobby knife and on the sticky cuts, cut it into 3 pieces. (the heart card would have cut theirs 6 times).

***you will end up cutting through your paper, don't worry about it. It is best to the cutting on a cutting mat, before you put your card together.

Step 2

I peeled off one section of my sticky cut and dumped Fine Cosmo glitter on it, then the next flower etc. Pat the glitter down to get it to adhere even better. Work with only 1 colour at a time.

Step 3

Peel away the middle section of the flower and using a different coloured glitter, adhere to sticky cut. You can do this as many times as you want.
All supplies SU
Base is Pacific Point, mat is Rose Red
Flowers are from Sticky Cuts Sweet on Whisper White paper matted with Pumpkin Pie
Blue glitter from Fine Supernova- Aqua
Orange glitter from Fine Supernova- Orange
Pink glitter from Fine Cosmo- Rose Pink
Ribbon is 1/2 Striped grosgrain ribbon- Pumpkin Pie

Regional card boards

So here are some of the card boards that they had at the Edmonton regional. Some pretty neat stuff. I learnt a new thing to do with the sticky cuts and glitter, it was totally awesome. Will have to give you a 101 on it. I do have a tutorial written and photographed to put up of a gift holder, I just can't figure out how to add add numerous photos in between the directions...ahhh someday.

Lame candy

So is my candy lame???? Only 3 comments.

Easter already

Bonjour mes amis. I felt like doing something Eastery so this is what I came up with. I also think it would be a great card to demo as is quite simple, but you get to use numerous things. Only 2 more sleeps to regionals wooohooo.

All supplies are SU only

Base is taken with teal, very vanilla mat sponged with Summer Sun ink. Using the 1 3/8", 1 1/4", and 1" circle punches I cut out various sizes in taken with teal, summer sun, and lovely lilac and just kinda slapped them on the card, I stamped the image from "A good" egg on very vanilla and them matted on taken with teal scallop punch, whoops forgot to colour the beak in with summer sun. Then I took a filigree brad and a brad from the fire and ice rhinestone brad and put them where I thought there should be a little bling. happy easter sentiment is also from "A good egg"

Beautiful Boho backgrounds

Hey chicken wings, yes that is a shadow my my arm in the picture. LOL. I'm so excited, today my sisters and I went and bought fabric for curtains, and paint. I have a 20 month old daughter and think her "baby"decor needs to be redone, so I bought the Ginormousflowers1 from SU's decor elements line. I am making new curtains and going to paint her room, hmmm, maybe I should do a before and after, anywho, the paint is (obviously not exact but close) So Saffron, her curtains are going to be Pixie Pink and So Saffron and then the flowers in Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, Pixie Pink and So Saffron, sound pretty rockin. 3 of her walls have built is shelves so it should be neat to see the end result.

The card here (in whispering voice) is for swapping at regional, I should be done with regional swapping posts now, and using the same layouts.

All supplies current SU only

Colours are tempting turquoise, basic black, whisper white.

Base is black, matted with tempt turq. Strip of black 2.25'"and strip of ww 2" stamped with Boho backgrounds. Tempt turq ribbon with black knot. Scallop punch used for black scallop. 1 3/8" circle punch in tempt turq, and again Boho backgrounds stamp set (I love how you can use different sized circle punches to punch out different designs with the big beautiful circle image from Boho.
